  • Worst car Ive owned. - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

Bought used with a little over 80K miles on it. Has had nothing but problem after problem since the week I got it. Needed to be in the shop for something at least every other month, at times it would be every 3-4 weeks. Had at least 4 different problems at various times that caused the engine to over heat. Transmission has needed to be replaced, now needs a new head gasket along with some other issues. If not for a used car warranty wed have payed double what the car is worth for all the repairs, as it is the out of pocket repairs cost about the car price over the last 2 years. The plastic inside the car rattles loudly when driving over 40 mph. Horrible car, I will never own a Pontiac again

  • I will Miss this Car when its gone :-( - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

I will never own another car that is quite like my grand am. It was my second car and not once has it given me any real trouble. I just had to replace the battery after almost 4 years owning it and who knows if it had been replaced before me. I got it after my first car, a cavalier, decided to die on me. Now that was a lemon!!! Everything went wrong with that car. This car has been awesome and I must say where I got if from (Nucar Pontiac) will be getting a repeat customer for sure. This car has been through alot with me and I will always cherish it for as long as I live.

  • Best car for buck - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

I got my grand am for my first car at first I was thinking I was just going to have it until I could afford a truck. Then I fell in love with the car. Having the 5 speed makes it so you feel like park of the car. Since I fell in love with my car I have done many sound systems through it which led me to start my own business. I had the windows tinted and custom graphics put on I also work at a graphics shop now. I put rims on it and a few other little things and it seems like a different car. It went from just another Grand Am to a GranDAMN. Yes thats kinda chessy but it works.

  • Make sure it was taken care of! - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

Our 2dr SE runs like a top. Squeaks in the dash get annoying, but thats why there are pieces of paper folded 10x over stuck in the nooks and crannies. You cant really notice ‘em... until one gets loose. Oooh, make it stop! Weve had 3 alternators over 83K miles. Mechanic said it might be the location causing the alternators to get hot. Power steering fluid leaked, so the mechanic replaced our "high pressure hose" and that fixed it. The car has poor visibility because of the wide pillars, but the 4-cyl. has good power. The car looks as good as it did the day my wife got it, inside and out. Her parents gave it to her as a h.s. grad. gift (we werent married then, just two kids in love).

  • My frist new car - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM
    By -

I love my grand am I bought it new and drove it for eleven years never had any thing go wrong with it . great gas mileage, I gave it to my daughter this year and bought a new one. I changed the oil as to the manufacture and had all the maintenance done that is suggested. I replaced the tires at 75,000 miles. This car was made to last. It has good get up and go for a four banger.

  • Love to drive! - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

This is the first car I actually loved. I bought mine used with 46,000 miles on it. She now has 77,000 and still purrs like a kitten. Front brakes done twice but no serious mechanical problems. Only real complaint is the notorious GM clearcoat, peeling around the trunk.

Put 150K miles on it. The Transmission had to be rebuilt at 102K, after that it never shifted smoothly. Replaced Power Steering Booster Hose at 140K. Rides better with Gabriel Struts and 94T Speed Rated tires. Overall reliable, not the best ride or most comfortable but very good gas mileage and the Quad 4 (16 valves) engine never missed a beat and has good power for passing on the freeway, however is a bit noisy.

  • Do NOT buy this car! - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

The 1995 Pontiac Grand Am Sedan SE with a Quad 4 engine is a piece of junk. If you currently have this car, plan on putting a completely new engine in it in the very near future. It will most likely be the transmission or the head gasket that goes first. I bought the car for over $4000 two years ago and will be lucky to get $500 for it now.

  • Bad Almost All Around - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

This car is sooo much fun to drive - when it wants to drive. I had it for five years and spent at least half of what I paid for it (bought it used)in repairs. Tons of electrical problems: windows dont go down, doors dont lock, lights just shut off on dark highways...Then it had this problem where it needed to rest after being driven. Wed have to pop open the hood and let the car cool off for an hour before it would feel like starting again. Oh, then the power steering went. Repaired it. Went again. Repaired it. Went again. It ate alternators... But because I loved the drive so much, Id still buy a 2004 and chance it.
